NT Ltd is committed to the principle of “think global, act local”. As of 2016 our bottling plant has far exceeded the industry standard for the specific amount of packaging material used for most product. This overall weight reduction on the bottles and caps we use will avoid the production and waste of hundreds of tonnes of plastic per year.
One of the main advantages of the new state-of-the-art technology installed in our crushing plant is the complete elimination of the discharge of waste water from the plant, i.e. 100% reuse of the waste water generated during the processing.
The process heat is produced using renewable resources (biomass digestate) instead of fossil fuels. One of its major advantages is that it is a carbon-neutral energy source, since it sequesters as much carbon dioxide during its life cycle as it burns. We have significantly improved the combustion efficiency of our upgraded biomass boilers. This has allowed us to produce more steam while burning less sunflower husk, with less air pollution. The biomass boilers are equipped with high-tech dust collectors, which separate the solid material leaving with the flue gas with extremely high efficiency.
From 2021 we have started selling sunflower crude and semi-refined oil as sustainable biomass for biofuel production. The main advantage of using such fuel, also a condition for its production, is that there is a princile reduction of greenhouse gas emmisions. Our company has met most stringent requirements and has been ISCC certified too.
